Our story
How STMate started.
It started with a conversation. We were sitting around talking about the business — specifically about how much time we were spending on quotes for customers who weren't ready to commit. We didn't resent them for it. People need to know what things cost before they decide. But we kept asking ourselves: is there a better way to handle this part?
That's when it clicked. With our background in the service industry and in building systems, we realized we could create something that did the early work for us. We started pulling out every question we asked before giving a quote — room sizes, surfaces, conditions, add-ons — and turned them into a structured process.
We built our own estimate calculator for our painting business. It worked. Customers came in more informed, more prepared, and more serious. We spent less time on dead-end quotes and more time on jobs that actually closed.
After seeing what it did for us, we thought — why not help other trades do the same thing? That's STMate. We're not a tech company that stumbled into the trades. We're a service business that built something that works and decided to share it.
